Our Team

Luke Hohmann

CEO & Founder

Luke Hohmann is the Founder and CEO of The Innovation Games® Company the leading provider of seriously fun games that produce seriously great market research results. The author of three books with long titles, Luke’s playfully diverse background of life experiences has uniquely prepared him to design and produce serious games. Luke graduated magna cum laude with a B.S.E. in computer engineering and an M.S.E. in computer science and engineering from the University of Michigan. In addition to data structures and artificial intelligence, he studied cognitive psychology and organizational behavior under such luminaries as Elliot Soloway, Karl Weick, and Dan Dennison. He is also a former United States National Junior Pairs Figure Skating Champion. In his spare time, Luke likes roughhousing with his four kids, his wife’s cooking, and long runs in the Santa Cruz mountains to burn off his wife’s cooking. Luke’s an old school Silicon Valley entrepreneur. Instead of building a company to flip, he’s building a company to change the world. E.B. White is proud!

Dan O’Leary

CTO

Dan joined The Innovation Games® Company with over 20 years experience in commercial software experience, including 10 years focused on mission-critical enterprise software products. At Callidus Software, Dan rose from a member of the initial engineering team to VP of Engineering, where he built a high performance rule-based enterprise incentive management system (TrueComp) currently in use by over 150 global enterprises. His engineering team delivered the architecture and product feature set for two major releases then led a group of up to 50 engineers through four major releases supporting customers across manufacturing, telecommunications, life sciences, banking, financial services and insurance verticals. Prior to Callidus, Dan was a staff engineer at Sun Microsystems where he designed and built development tools supporting Java/C++ development as well as a multi-site configuration management system (TeamWare) used by the Solaris development team in addition to many other external customers. Dan holds four software patents related to his work at Sun. Dan has a M.S.E. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Computer Science summa cum laude from Western Michigan University.

Laura Richardson

VP, Sales

Laura is passionate about technology and about helping customers find powerful solutions to pressing problems. She brings 20 years of sales and management experience to The Innovation Games® Company, including seven years at Uptime Resources where she ran the IT professional services division. Her team managed all aspects of technology for small and mid-sized businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to Uptime Resources, Laura was the business development director at E-Color where she and her team launched an image and color optimization engine to improve the reliability of online images used by large e-commerce sites from companies like Bloomingdales and J Crew. The seeds for her love of technology were planted during the four years she spent with ObjectSpace. As Sales Director for both the East and then the West Coast, she helped large Fortune accounts successfully adopt object-oriented technology and iterative development practices which was very rewarding. Laura holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and has also worked on an MA in Psychology. She lives in the East Bay with her husband and two children and challenges herself a few times a year by participating in a ToughMudder Adventure Race.

Tami Carter

VP, Marketing

Tami Carter is the VP of Marketing for The Innovation Games® Company, where she works to spread the word on how serious games can be used to solve serious problems. She brings more than 14 years experience in B2B media, community development, marketing and communications to The Innovation Games® Company, including 9 years at United Business Media, where she was the General Manager for the Software Development Events group, and Managing Editor for Software Development magazine. Prior to joining TIGC, Tami drove MarCom, social media and PR efforts for Wheelhouse Solutions, the parent company of general contracting firms Champion Exposition Services and the George Fern Company, and the experiential marketing agency Immersa Marketing. A Southern Expat with an MFA in creative writing from Louisiana State University and a BA and MA from Hollins University, she lives in San Francisco with her husband, two kids and two cats.

Nancy Chou

General Manager, Knowsy™

Nancy Chou is a seasoned business strategist, an experienced marketing professional, and a social media-certified strategist with more than 25 years of B2B and B2C, as well as Fortune 500 and startup, experience, including HP, IBM, the Norton Consumer Business of Symantec Corp, and Cygnus Solutions, a Red Hat acquisition. She was a 2013 Marketers That Matter Award nominee, while she was the Sr. Director of Customer Success at LeadFormix, a CallidusCloud Co., where she led a passionate team responsible for 300+ clients’ successful deployment of LeadFormix’s marketing automation platform. Previously, Nancy was the principal of Nancy Chou Marketing Consultants, founding partner of the Social Business Consulting Group, marketing instructor at Stanford University’s Continuing Studies Program, and VP of marketing for a number of Silicon Valley-based startups, including Sigaba, acquired by Proofpoint. She is the current NorCal chapter president of the Business Marketing Association (BMA).  Nancy was a Chevron USA scholar and received her MBA in marketing from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.  She earned a B.S. in Business Management with a minor in Economics magna cum laude from California State University, Northridge.  Nancy enjoys mentoring, competitive ballroom dancing and honeydew bubble tea drinking.
